The Sense Of It All

By Terry J. Clements

We all were simply minding our own business.
There's no need to defend that we were innocent.
On that ugly day referred to now as those events,
Well it came and went and made no sense at all.

Now lovin' your neighbor's not the hit it was
And they tell us there's no tellin' who to really trust.
You got to get a grip on how to push and shove
And there's something there that makes no sense at all.
_____
Chorus: Is this the cold war warmed over again?
Tell me who is your foe, who is your friend?
Do you feel a little older, is it lookin' like the end?
Is this the Cold War warmed over again?
_____
I recall when I look back into our history
Hearing they don't love their lives like you and me.
If a line was drawn across the sand are you ready to believe
Or is there something there that makes sense at all?

Is it true that from the inside's where we fall apart?
And the end is so much clearer than the place to start?
Now's the time to reach into your brother's heart
Until we find The Sense Of It All.
_____
Chorus: Is this the Cold War warmed over again?
Tell me who is your foe, who is your friend?
Do you feel a little older, is it lookin' like the end?
Is this the Cold War warmed over again?
Do you feel a little older, is it lookin' like the end?
Is this the Cold War warmed over again?
